About

I'm an ordinary, athletic man in my forties from Eastern Europe—not a sage or guru, and the photo you see is fictional, not me. Amil Ecki is my spiritual pseudonym. After facing my own crisis, I turned to spirituality for meaning, not escape. I share my journey as a traveling companion, so no one has to weather life's storms alone.

While “Amil Ecki” is a pseudonym, the person behind it is as real as you are. You won’t find any therapy certificates, psychology degrees, or claims of having a secret recipe for happiness here. I’m not a spiritual master who levitates above the problems of daily life. I am someone who, just like you, faces challenges, stress, and questions that don’t always have simple answers.

My path to spirituality didn’t begin in the silence of a mountain monastery but in the middle of a life storm. I’ve been through moments where the world as I knew it fell apart and a sense of meaning felt impossible to grasp. It was these periods of deep crisis and personal pain that forced me to stop and look within. In the search for meaning—which I wrote more about in my first post, In Search of Meaning: Why This Blog Was Created—I found a path that I now walk.

For me, spirituality isn’t an escape from reality, but a tool for navigating it more wisely and fully. It’s the art of combining profound insights with the practicalities of life—work, relationships, and managing difficult emotions. I’m not free from problems; I’m still on the journey, still learning, sometimes falling, but always getting back up with new experiences.

I created this space because I know how lonely and overwhelming it can feel to navigate a crisis. I don’t want to be a teacher who looks down from above. I want to be your traveling companion. A friend who walks alongside you, understands the weight you carry, and shares their own perspective so you know you’re not alone in your search.
